ABOUT

Our organisation’s mission is to promote the traditional artistic and athletic sport of Scottish Highland Dancing, while also embracing and enhancing Scottish heritage within our local community.

With a Current Official Membership of 80 from around the Central Coast of NSW, and various other locations around Australian and the Globe, we are an enthusiastic group who love Highland Dancing.

Founded in 1979 by Mrs Veronica McFarland as the Peninsula Highland Dancing Association in Manly.  The Peninsula Highland Dancing Association moved to the Central Coast in 1989 and our current name of Central Coast Highland Dancing was adopted in 2006.

With our jewel competition, the Internationals Highland Dancing Festival of Australia being held in July each year, we also hold our Highland Dancing Titles in February and the Scottish National Titles in November.

Being a Not for Profit, Community minded and based organisation, we work closely with other local organisations, including the Gosford City Pipe Band and the Central Coast Scots in order to promote Scottish heritage on the Central Coast.

Without the generous support of our sponsors, including McFarland’s Down Under the Kilt, Bendigo Bank, TOMRA Australia - @Cleanaway and Gosford RSL, our organisation would not be able to continue to successfully run and host the largest annual Highland Dancing Competition in Australia.
